pink saturday :: birthday!

It's Image and video hosting by TinyPic Fiesta!

Really glad I stumbled upon this site. I was looking for a "pink" version of the Blue Monday and this site popped out. There were quite less than a hundred participants then. But look now, we've grown! I can't believe it has been a year of Pink Saturday fun already! Happy Birthday to PS and thank you and congratulations to Ms Bev for hosting this fun saturday meme.

Before we start the celebration, let's have some breakfast first...
{grilled cheese, a cup of hot coffee and pink fabric for my daughter's bumper guards}

And let's put on some make up...

... get the compact powder
... open it... then put some on the face
... a little moreand... smile!
then... enjoy!
... and gobble!Are you done? How was the make up? Tasty? :D

{I was working on something, the little girl was watching barney with her snack on the side. when i looked at her... OMG!!! What have you done? Did i clean her, wipe her, get mad at her right away? NO! I.GRABBED.MY.CAMERA.AND TOOK PICTURES! :D Again, who could resist this pink fun!? It was a pink strawberry filling after all. And she was wearing a top with pink flowers too! Please, do tell me I'm not a bad mama.}

Okay then, if you're done with the make-up, it's time to blow our birthday candle...
{ a pink candle that my birthday daughter blew the moment she woke up}

And eat some ice cream...
{my current favorite - pink berry strawberry}

After doing the rounds, celebrating the Pink Saturday Birthday, it's now time to relax. Let's soak our tired hands feet in these pink rose petals with warm pebbles underneath...

{a relaxing day with my friend.
we pampered ourselves on her birthday.
spent 2 hours inside
Footlose Foot Spa. }

So there... I hope you had fun.
Happy Pink Saturday Birthday!

binitad na biya

The husband went to Tanauan, Batangas and brought home this dried fish. Quite expensive but worth it. Delicious. I'd say it is comparable to danggit. I think even better than danggit.

caught her under the tulle crib net.
i was pleased that instead of crying she actually had fun underneath.
she was giggling the whole time she was struggling to get out of it.
glad i was able to capture a cute sequence shot.

chicken pandan

Delicious dish inspired by the recipe I saw over at bahay-bahayan. My search is over for the best chicken pandan recipe. Thanks Rico for sharing. Though I was not able to use cilantro, and was not able to marinate it overnight, it still tasted goooood! Instead of wansuy, I used chopped ginger, and added pandan to the marinade and used it, with some water, to steam the chicken. My angel went to the corner store, several houses away from us, to buy something, and heard someone said "ang bango naman ng niluluto". :D Winner!

For the sauce, because i'm not fond of "maaanghang" I combined sugar, water, patis and seasoning. Great combination too, I tell you.

Tip: I had a hard time wrapping each piece, until finally, with 2 pieces left, I figured how to wrap it - wrap a piece of chicken in 2 pieces of inter-locking pandan leaves. If this fails, you can always use the handy toothpick to secure the leaves :D

nom nom nom

sheesh! spent wasted so much time playing this.
arghhh!
strained my eyes and my hand.
time to hit the hay.
see you tom for a delish treat :D

i even caught her trying to sit on the chair.
i had a good laugh seeing her struggling to fit her behind on that tiny chair.

pink saturday :: paintings

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is currently in my living room. I liked it right away the moment I saw it. It looks serene and very relaxing. I, however requested the painter to add more flowers to add a happier tone. He painted more PINK orchids. :D Most of the time, the usual comment from guests would be - "that looks really inviting. perfect place for a picnic." Even I sometimes wish that we're actually there . Me sitting under the tree, reading a book or crocheting something, while the kids are running around. Bliss!

To match that painting, I have these on the other side of the wall.

They are not actually paintings but cross stitched pattern of house facades with PINK flowers. To me, they looked like paintings. I bought this set because I couldn't afford to buy facade/house paintings. Now, why is the other one sitting on the table, you may ask.

Well, actually there are four of them. I requested my cousin (who won in a country fair in Iowa for a cross stitch project she did) to help me. Turned out, she finished all three pieces in a flash! They were so pretty that I had them framed right away. I could not hang the third piece yet because the fourth piece, that was supposed to be my share is unfortunately still not yet framed until now. :(

Can you see specks of PINK flowers there?

This last piece is my first painting acquisition. Got it on installment when I was still a young employee, years before I got married. It now hangs perfectly in a wall leading to the kitchen.

pichi-pichi

My first time to do this. Turned out surprisingly good with the grated cheese on top instead of the usual coco.
